Peter Potts, Farlington Ringing Group

Peter initiated the colour-ringing of Greenshanks by Farlington Ringing Group, co-ordinating the project and collating all the colour-ring sightings. He can be contacted at the following address or email with any reports of ringed birds.

Peter is a Senior Ranger for Hampshire County Council's Countryside Service and has had a life long interest in the Solent's shorebirds. He has been involved with wader and wildfowl counts since 1975. In his 'spare' time Pete has been involved with the Farlington Ringing Group since the late 1970's, and more recently has been driving force behind a series of detailed colour-ringing projects on a variety of species in the Solent. These include Brent Geese, Wigeon and various waders in Southampton Water, as well as Grey Plover, Greenshanks and Black-tailed Godwits throughout the Solent.
