N//R NN

Where it was ringed:
Farlington Marshes, Langstone Harbour, UK

Where it has been seen:
Oviedo, N. Spain

N//R NN was ringed at Farlington Marshes in August 2001. It was seen regularly at Farlington Marshes between August and October, then on Thorney Island, Chichester Harbour, in December that year. In January 2002 it was sighted at Ria del Eo, Galicia/Asturias, Spain, staying there between 1st January to at least 16th March 2002, before being seen back at Farlington from 29th April to 2nd May 2002. This pattern has continued, visiting Langstone and Chichester harbours from July to December each autumn and early winter and then moving to the same site in northern Spain at New Year until mid-April, stopping off once more in the eastern Solent for a few days on its way back north to breed, presumably to Scandinavia or western Russia.

N//R NN has not been seen either in the Solent or in Spain during the autumn or winter of 2004/05 and is feared dead.
